Hi all,

My name is Ben and I'm a motorcycle instructor for Phoenix motorcycle training so I'm colleagues of Wynne, Sarah and Johny. (I know I need help). I'm ERS trained and going on to advanced soon. Not sure what the next steps are but I'm sure I'll find out soon and I look forward to meeting you in the future  :)

Thanks for the information Stem,

But as I have said to similar forums in the past.

Rather than call all things with two bits of rubber and an engine a motorcycle, lets extrapolate the data fully;

How many 0-50cc accidents?
How many 51cc-125cc accidents?
How many 126cc - 500cc accidents?
How many 501cc - 1200+cc accidents?
How many Advanced Trained motorcyclist involved in accidents?

When this was put to a Traffic Inspector he checked the figures and found that on two occasions motorcyclists were found to have reversed into something.
Once it was found that the PCs on scene were only using page one of the reporting screen to save time and to get the tick box exercise done before end of shift.
So based on the statistics motorcycle per se are very dangerous killing machines and should be banned!!!
But in truth it is Darwinian Theory at work taking out the uneducated, I know it all youths and others on both sides of the fence, car and motorbike but to give your self a fighting chance.
Wear all the kit all the time.
Have advance training.
But a aware that often the other road users will not have passed a UK driving test!
Have a motorcycle that has the power to get you away from the hazzard.
Don't camouflage yourself (silver bike against silver grey sky, black kit), funny that's the colour we paint battleships to hide them.

Really miss not being part of this, now very involved in Advanced Rider Training with IAM, and qualified  IMI National Observer plus Chief Observer Kent Advanced Motorcyclist Group, not nearly as much fun or as rewarding as USR.
