Briefly, there is a bike run from The South of England Showground at Ardingly to the Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Base at Dunsfold near Cranleigh as a fundraising event for (you've guest it) the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance. More details and registration on their web site.

Hi Brian and all.
Jeffrey B and I have been attending the organising meetings for this event, and I've been involved in doing the route, which is not finalised, but has had "unofficial "approval from Sussex and Surrey police, who incidentally have a minimal involvement in the marshalling/running of the ride-out on the day (funding constraints), so there will be a need for substantial USR involvement to mark the route effectively.
It's to be run as a large ride-out rather than a managed convoy, with marshals being dropped off the front of the group as direction markers. No junctions are to be taken or held along the route - normal rules of the road apply, and everyone will be responsible for their own riding, just as on IAM group rides-out, for example.
The route is basically south from Ardingly Show-ground to Haywards Heath, where one picks up the A272 and follows it west to Cowfold. Turn right onto the A281, and follow it all the way to Alfold Crossways where one leaves the A281, and Dunsfold Aerodrome will be accessed via a back gate nearby.
Detailed route, and suggested USR numbers to follow, but the more, the merrier!

Well done John. I had a feeling that somebody was doing something, just wasn't sure who or what etc.

I believe that you have been working with Corinne Hitching with regard to our Motorbike Run planned for 30^th September 2012.
I am writing to inform you that, unfortunately, Corinne has been unwell and I have today taken the difficult decision to cancel this event as we do not have the staffing resource to ensure that it reaches its full potential.
