I opened the gpx file in Mapsource and then uploaded to the Zumo. Even in Mapsource it was showing straight lines until I forced it to recalculate, that option didn't work on my unit though. In this case it didn't matter as I know the area.

Think it was the first time I've actually managed to successfully use my radio - worked well on the laps I did when Wynne was observing.

Matching riders before hand, I believe is important. My first lap had an experienced advanced rider on a demo bike with a lad on a 125, wasn't fair on anyone in the group.
Think I was greedy, did 8 laps - one way to get over my dislike of Skill Hill lane  ::)

There were are a variety of riding abilities which helped keep the day interesting, having just got back from a stint with two not so confidant 125 riders, I went out with 3 on demo bikes (the obs was also on a demo), thinking they'd be wanting to try the bikes more than the observation and realising the riders were quite competent,  I lead a 'spirited' ride - everyone enjoyed it.  :)
As has been mentioned having some info  on ability before hand would have helped. Also a plan on how to handle disparate riders i.e. do we attempt to keep the group together and stifle the more capable rider - these are issues for the observers really, they can't asses riders they can't see.

I got the impression some were there to ride the demos and were not necessarily interested in a report back - possibly this should be established before the ride .

Had no probs with my radio once I had plugged it in properly !
